Important News About the Validity of Easyrider Cards and NCT Tickets on the Tram

Posted by & filed under All routes.

The responsbility for the operation of the tram service between Station Street and Hucknall/Phoenix Park was transferred to a new operator as part of the contract to build and operates lines 2 and 3 to Chilwell and Clifton, on 15th December 2011.

For legal reasons, this means that Nottingham City Transport Cityrider and Grouprider tickets will not be valid on the tram from Friday 16th December 2011. Passengers are advised to buy a Kangaroo ticket if they wish to travel on both NCT and NET networks.

NCT have negotiated with the new tram operator for Easyrider passes to be valid on the tram until 31st January 2012 to enable passengers to consider their travel and ticketing options for the future.

Easyrider cardholders* who had travel days remaining on their card beyond 31st January 2012 on the date of the tram transfer, who wish to continue to use NCT buses and the tram for their journeys from February onwards are entitled to a Kangaroo Citycard for the same time period at no extra cost.

* this excludes all student academic year and term travel passes which were sold as bus only offers.

Please take your Easyrider card to the Broadmarsh Travel Centre in the Bus Station to be exchanged for an equivalent Kangaroo pass, from 19th December 2011 onwards. Please note future purchases of Kangaroo tickets will be at higher Kangaroo rates.

Bus only users do not need to collect a Kangaroo Citycard and should continue to travel on their Easyrider card at no extra cost.

Easyrider Direct Debit customers will be contacted directly regarding these changes in the New Year.

Nottingham City Transport would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to passengers as a consequence of these changes which were beyond the contol of the Company. Please download the PDF leaflet for details of all the travel and ticketing options available for your future travel. We hope you will continue to travel on the NCT network in the future.

For journey planning advice or queries regarding these changes, please e-mail us or call us on 0115 950 60 70 or visit the NCT Travel Centre in the Old Market Square.
