Nottingham City Transport hosts Municipal Bus Operators Conference

Album, have chosen Nottingham City Transport to host their annual conference on 10th and 11th May 2005, in recognition of the excellent provision of public transport in the Nottingham and its recent transport successes.

Approximately 170 Album delegates, many of whom are other bus operators in the UK, will attend the conference at the Belton Woods Hotel, Grantham. They will be briefed about Nottingham being officially recognised as a national transport “centre of excellence”, whilst learning about the future transport plans and aspirations of the city. The theme of the conference is Integration, and working in partnership to achieve transport excellence.

Speakers from major bus operators will be sharing best practice and representatives from other local authorities will be informing the conference about their achievements through working in partnership. In addition new ideas regarding bus technology, passenger communication and staff relations will also be covered by leading experts in the field.

Mark Fowles, MD for Nottingham City Transport said “We are delighted to have been chosen to host such a prestigious event and that Nottingham, is recognised for its excellent transport provision. We have a lot to share following our recent success as “Bus Operator of the Year” and believe Nottingham can be used to demonstrate the benefits of partnership and integration. We hope to learn more from our Album colleagues to build on this success for our passengers in the future”.

“Album”, the Association of Local Bus Company Managers is a conglomeration of Bus Operators across the UK that have a common interest in the provision and operation of quality bus services for their local community, who meet often to share best practice ideas.
