NCT are proud to announce that they have been successful again at the 2005 UK Bus awards, dubbed as the “Bus Oscars”, with the NCT Pay as you Go, Anytime card, voted as runner up in the innovation category.
The purpose of the UK Bus Awards, celebrating its 10th anniversary, is to identify excellence and best practice in bus based public transport.
This is the forth year that NCT has been successful in these awards, this reflects the progress the company has made since the launch of the new network in September 2001, plus NCT’s commitment to customer service across the network.
Managing Director Mark Fowles said “NCT have been leading the public transport market, using smartcard technology for years, the introduction of “easyrider anytime” has been very popular with occasional passengers, we are delighted that this pay as you go smart card, has been judged as having ‘a revolutionary impact leading to better bus services’ for passengers in Nottingham”
The NCT Anytime smart card allows discounted unlimited travel for the entire day across the NCT network, whenever passengers wish to use the bus, without the bother of having to have the correct fare when boarding.
“easyrider anytime” is one of 4 smart travel cards available from NCT. Passengers can pre-purchase 5, 10 or 20 days worth of travel, keeping them for use whenever they wish to make a journey – on a pay as you go basis.
A full days worth of travel, allowing unlimited journeys across the NCT network within the “City Area” using an “anytime” card, costs from £2.05 per day, this represents a discount of 25p against the equivalent NCT on-bus ticket – Cityrider.
It is extremely simple to use any of the “easyrider” travel cards on the NCT Network, all passengers have to do is show the card to the driver, then, hold it in front of the reader unit on the bus, until a green light appears and a beep is emitted – this shows the card has been accepted. The display on the card reader will also indicate how many days travel remain on the “easyrider” card, for customer reference.
All “easyrider” cards are initially purchased from the NCT Travel Centre but they can be topped up and renewed, either at the NCT Travel Centre, or remotely, via direct debit, phone, post, or the internet, making travel on NCT very easy and convenient.
Passengers can obtain further information about the entire NCT “easyrider” smart travel card range from the NCT Travel Centre in the Market Square, the NCT website www.nctx.co.uk or from the NCT Call Centre on 0115 950 60 70.
