Christmas and New Year Bus Arrangements 2005/6

NCT would like to confirm the arrangements for buses over Christmas and New Year 2005/6. Fewer people travel by bus over the festive period and adjustments are made to the level of service provided to cater for the lower peak time demand, but whilst also providing enough capacity for the many people who use the bus for shopping over the holiday period.

To give our bus drivers a break, there will be no NCT services operating on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. On Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, buses will operate a normal Saturday timetable but will be finishing earlier than normal between 19.00 and 20.00 hours. The NCT Travel Centre and Call Centre opening hours will also vary.

To reflect the expected high demand for services in the post-Christmas and New Year Sales, NCT will be the only bus operator in Nottingham providing a full Saturday timetable on Bank Holiday Tuesdays 27th December 2005 and 2nd January 2006.

In summary, NCT services will operate as follows:

Park and Ride services Link 1 and Link 2, operated by NCT under contract to Nottingham City Council, will operate a normal Monday to Friday service on those days marked (*).

As a Christmas bonus for passengers, all easyrider city and easyrider <16 card holders renewing their travel card before 24 December 2005 for 28 days or more will receive a free week’s travel, courtesy of NCT. Direct Debit customers have been advised of their reduced December payment.
