Two NCT drivers will be dressing up as “fairies” on Thursday 1st December to raise money for the NCT Charities Fund and promote the Xmas raffle.
The “fairies” will be visiting NCT garages and depots plus the Travel Centre, as well as travelling on NCT buses with the objective of encouraging more staff to donate regularly to this fund from their salary, and to purchase tickets for the Xmas raffle. In addition they will be collecting money from NCT passengers for this excellent cause.
The NCT charities fund receives monies from many NCT employees and any donations received from staff are matched by NCT. The NCT Charities Committee then decides which local causes to support preferring to give gifts rather than cash donations. Some of the charities they support come via the New Appeals Organisation who become aware of needy causes throughout Nottingham.
This year to date they have raised over £8000, and are in the process of assisting the following good causes in recent week’s. Newark Orchard School, the Family Holiday Association, The Beeston Gateway Club, Hayward House via Phil Pendleton (IBM) and his Boxing Day Dip. The Shepherd School, Carrington Primary School, Westdale Lane Infant School, Aspley Wood School, Thorneywood Education Base and the Nottingham City Hospital Youth Project.
Watch out for the NCT fairies around the Market Square tomorrow morning and support this excellent cause.
