An emergency diversion has been introduced on NCT Lilac Line services 23, 24 to Bakersfield following a road surface collapse on Douglas Avenue.
With immediate effect until further notice, services 23 and 24 will be diverted as follows:
- Service 23 will operate to and from Greenhill Road (using the 23A route and terminus)
- Service 24 will operate normal route to Harrogate Road turning right on to Greenwood Road, right on the Ripon Road, right onto Hereford Road and then left back onto Harrogate Road to continue the service as normal.
Passengers are advised to give extra time for journeys and to be aware that departure times from Bakersfield to City will be affected because buses will not be able to change between services 23 and 24 as normal at the Greenwood Road terminus.
The road is expected to be closed for some time and passengers should contact the NCT Travel Centre on 0115 950 60 70 for any updates.
