NCT drivers, have today agreed to accept the latest pay offer following the TGWU ballot to all members, meaning all strike and industrial action is now cancelled.
The offer accepted provides an additional 15p per hour funded from productivity savings, over and above the original 20p per hour already offered and being paid to drivers. In addition some other changes to drivers’ conditions have been agreed in terms of drivers’ uniform and duties whilst in service.
The deal is a three year agreement, with pay awards for years 2 & 3 linked to RPI plus 0.5% or an agreed cash increase (whichever is the greatest amount).
Mark Fowles MD for NCT stated “I am pleased that this dispute is over and that the agreed outcome is one the company can afford and that drivers find acceptable, we can now concentrate on rebuilding our relationships with passengers and drivers alike”
He continued:
“NCT apologise to all passengers for any inconvenience experienced recently as a result of this dispute, we believe with a three year pay deal in place that passengers can once again rely on NCT to deliver a service that they depend upon on a daily basis”
A TGWU spokesman said:
“We would like to thank the public for their support during the strike days and apologise for the inconvenience caused. This has now been resolved with an amicable agreement”
