NCT Appoints new Commercial Manager

Dave Astill, previously Commercial Manager for First Potteries, has been appointed Commercial Manager for Nottingham City Transport from September 2007. Dave will take over from Barrie Burch who is moving on to the position of Nottingham Express Transit Project Manager for NCT.

David Astill said “I’m delighted to be joining NCT at this exciting stage in the development of the public transport network for Nottingham, I look forward to the challenges this will present and working closely with the company’s staff and stakeholders to deliver this shared vision.”

For the past 5 years NCT has been improving its network and image, Dave will continue this evolution. He faces the challenge of the forthcoming new legislation for driver training, plus the proposals for lines 2 and 3 of the tram, to ensure that NCT continues to play a key role in the provision of an integrated public transport network for the city.

Mark Fowles Managing Director of Nottingham City Transport, said: “Dave brings with him a wealth of experience and professionalism which I believe will enhance our business”.

Dave will take responsibility for over 820 drivers at the three NCT garages, which operate over 100 routes in the Greater Nottingham Area with 325 buses in service.
