Final arrangements are being made for the launch of the Go2 Night bus network, which starts running in the early hours of Saturday 1 December 2007.
The 8 brand new routes will provide a simplified night bus network for Greater Nottingham, featuring direct routes from the City Centre at 1, 2 and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, with new lower value-for-money fares.
All services will be operated with fully low floor accessible buses fitted with CCTV for added passenger and driver safety and security.
The 8 late night routes will be:
N6 – City Centre to Trent Bridge, Central Avenue, West Bridgford and Gamston
N27 – City Centre to Sneinton, Carlton Hill, Carlton, Westdale Lane and Mapperley
N28 – City Centre to Ilkeston Road, Beechdale, Bilborough and Wollaton Vale
N36 – City Centre to Derby Road, Nottingham University, Beeston and Chilwell
N48 – City Centre to Meadows, Clifton and Ruddington
N58 – City Centre to Sherwood, Daybrook and Arnold
N77 – City Centre to Alfreton Road, Aspley Lane, Strelley and Bulwell
N89 – City Centre to Sherwood, Bestwood Park and Rise Park
Fares on the new Night buses have been reduced by 33% with a £2 single fare introduced. Easyrider City and Anytime smart cards will also be valid without any additional supplementary fare and the £2.70 all day CityRider ticket can also be used on the new Night buses, following the introduction of a later 04:30 cut off period.
To support the launch of the new late night Go2 routes, a special Night bus timetable is now available from NCT's Travel Centre, normal timetable outlets, the NCT website www.nctx.co.uk and by telephone on 0115 950 60 70.
Householders should also look out for “Busted” – Nottingham 's very own ‘celebrity' magazine which is being delivered to 160,000 addresses this week. Featuring news on the new Night buses as well NCT's Famous Names Campaign and Stress-BUSting suggestions, Busted promises to be a great read and there's even the chance to win an iPOD Shuffle.
The existing Night Rider services 96, 97, 98 and 99 will be withdrawn after running in the early morning of Sunday 25 November 2007.
