Nottingham City Transport Kindly Donate Free Travel Passes to Millennium Volunteers!

Nottingham City Council Millennium Volunteers have been supporting community benefit volunteering by 16-25 year olds in the Nottingham City Area since 1998.

Unfortunately the funding received to run this project has not risen in line with inflation and there are many more young people who are keen to volunteer to help the community than we can support with the resources we are given.

However Nottingham City Transport have supported us this year by donating – 50 free day rider tickets to be used by young volunteers to get to and from their volunteering.

These will support young people to work on all sorts of volunteering projects and placements this year including a media project to produce news letters and films about young people's issues, a group who are meeting to plan and deliver their own residential with community benefit workshops for young people, volunteers in youth clubs and centres and much more.

Nemo Shaw, project manager of Millennium Volunteers said “Our thanks go to Nottingham City Transport for this support, it makes a difference to everyone involved from the individual volunteers to the members of the wider community who will benefit from the projects that we can support”.
