Market Square Re-Opening Event – Friday 30 March to Sunday 1 April 2007

Ongoing celebrations to mark the reopening of the Old Market Square this weekend will impact on some services. Please see below for details of how services are affected by these events.

There is a possibility that the Police may, at some stage during the event, implement a full City Centre closure in which case affected services will be relocated. NCT staff will be available to offer assistance.

Friday 30 March 2007

From 18.00 until late in the evening trams will terminate at the Royal Centre.

From 18.00, buses will be diverted as follows:

Green line services 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will depart Lower Parliament Street following normal route but at Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, left Friar Lane and left to access stops on Angel Row.

Orange line services 35 and 36 will depart Milton Street following normal route but at the Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, left Friar Lane and left to access stops on Angel Row.

Saturday 31 March 2007

From 18.00 to late trams will terminate at the Royal Centre.

From 18.00, buses will be diverted as follows:

Navy lines 1, 2, 48 and Pathfinder 90 will operate normal route to Maid Marian Way continuing the full length to the Derby Road roundabout, returning along Maid Marian Way and using stop M2 near St James Street as the main City Centre stop.

Green line services 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will depart Lower Parliament Street following normal route but at Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, using stop M1 instead of Angel Row, before continuing to Broad Marsh and normal routes.

Maroon line service 13 will operate normal route to Maid Marian Way continuing the full length to the Derby Road roundabout, returning along Maid Marian Way and using stop M2 near St James Street as the main City Centre stop.

Lilac line services 21, 23, 24, 25, 27 and Pathfinder 100 will operate normal to stop W3 at Victoria Centre where they will set down all passengers. Buses from the City will not call at King Street and all passengers should head for the Victoria Centre stops V1 - V4 for buses.

Orange line services 35, 36 will depart Milton Street and follow the normal route but at the Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, using stop U4 opposite the old Co-op instead of Angel Row.

Red line 44 will operate normal route to Milton Street, turning left on to Lower Parliament Street and using stop V4 near Argos as the main City Centre stop. Buses will not be serving Queen Street.

Red line 45 will operate normal route to the Victoria Centre, but usign stop E2 at the Elite which will be the main City Centre stop. Buses will not be serving Queen Street.

Link 1 and 2 will depart Lower Parliament Street following normal route but at Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, using stop M3 instead of Mount Street, before continuing to Broad Marsh and back to the park and Ride sites.

Skylink will operate following normal route to Maid Marian Way, continue along the full length of Maid Marian Way right Upper Parliament Street (use stop code U5 for setting down), left South Sherwood Street and stop at the first lighting column after bus stop code G2 and wait time. 4 minutes before Friar Lane scheduled departure times, depart along South Sherwood Street, right Shakespeare Street, right North Church Street, right Burton Street, left South Sherwood Street, right Upper Parliament Street and left Maid Marian Way to stop code M2 near to St James St junction which will be used as temporary City Centre departure point in place of Friar Lane – depart 2 minutes after Friar lane scheduled departure times.

Sunday 1st April 2007

From 14.00 until approximately 21.00 in the evening trams will terminate at the Royal Centre.

From 14.00 hrs until approximately 21.00 buses will be diverted as follows:

Green line services 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will depart Lower Parliament Street following normal route but at Market Street junction continue along Upper Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, left Friar Lane and left to access stops on Angel Row.
