Concessionary Bus Travel
If you are over 60 or have a qualifying disability, you can apply for a bus travel pass which can allow you to use NCT buses for free under the National Concessionary Scheme. To apply for a travel pass, please contact your local council.
NCT accepts all English local authority concessionary passes, where the following travel arrangements apply:
Nottingham City Council Card Holders
Nottingham City Council residents can apply for a Senior, Mobility or Mobility+ travel pass, which also has additional local benefits in Nottingham City Leisure Centres and Libraries, as well as discounts in some shops. For more details visit the CityCard website
Over 60's
- Free travel on all NCT services (including the tram, Citylink Park & Ride and Skylink) at all times, except between 07:30 and 09:29 on Mondays to Fridays.
- Between 07:30 and 09:29 on Mondays to Fridays, the full adult fare has to be paid.
- Passes are not valid on Night Buses (routes starting with “N”), or on journeys made to/from outside the City Area before 09:30 and after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays, where the full adult fare has to be paid.
Disabled
- Free travel on all NCT services (including the tram, Citylink Park & Ride and Skylink) at all times.
- Passes are not valid on Night Buses (routes starting with “N”), or on journeys made to/from outside the City Area before 09:30 and after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays, where the full adult fare has to be paid.
Nottinghamshire County Council (including the districts of Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark, Sherwood and Rushcliffe)
Nottinghamshire County Council residents can apply for a travel pass through their local district council, details are available here.
Over 60 & Disabled
- Free travel on all NCT services (including Citylink Park and Ride and Skylink) at all times, except before 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays.
- Before 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays, half the normal adult single or return fare is paid. (Day tickets and Easyrider cards are not available at half price).
- Free travel on the tram at all times, except before 09:30 and between 16:00 and 18:00 weekdays, when half fare is charged on single tickets only
- Passes are not valid on Night Buses (routes starting with “N”).
Leicestershire County Council
Leicestershire County Council residents can apply for a travel pass through their local district council.
Over 60 & DIsabled
- Free travel on all NCT services (including Citylink Park and Ride and Skylink) at all times, except before 09:30 or after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays.
- Before 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays, half the normal adult single or return fare is paid if travelling on South Notts service 1 or Skylink, but only where the journey starts or finishes in Leicestershire (between Loughborough and Stanford Corner on the 1 or within the East Midlands Airport and Pegasus Site on Skylink).
- Before 09:30 and after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays, the full adult fare has to be paid on any journey made on any other NCT service.
All other local authority areas
Residents can apply for a travel pass through their local council.

- Free travel on all NCT services (including Citylink Park and Ride and Skylink) at all times, except before 09:30 or after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays.
- Before 09:30 and after 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays, the full adult fare has to be paid on any journey made on any other NCT service.
