As the school summer holiday begins, most parents will recognise that feeling of impending expense in trying to keep the kids entertained throughout the six weeks! But Nottingham City Transport is set to make the break just a little easier on parents’ pockets as they introduce a cheaper ticket that will benefit the whole family.
From 23rd July right through to, and including 2nd September, NCT’s Grouprider ticket has reduced in price – meaning that up to 5 people (minimum 1 adult, maximum 2 adults) can enjoy unlimited any time travel across Nottingham for only £4.50! Groupriders are normally £9.00 before 5pm so this is an impressive 50% cutback.
Not only that, but with a NCT Grouprider, many of Nottingham’s most popular attractions are providing discounts or special offers, making the day out even cheaper for mums and dads.
“We have some fantastic places to visit in Nottingham, most of which can be travelled to by bus thanks to our vast network,” says NCT Marketing Manager, Anthony Carver-Smith. “We’ve partnered with many of these to reduce prices for parents – from well-loved venues like the Galleries of Justice museum in the city centre, to lesser known gems such as Stonebridge Farm in St Ann’s.”
Nottingham’s Old Market Square will once again host its beach, the ‘Nottingham Riviera’ – complete with sand, paddling pool and fairground rides, but with NCT’s Network Grouprider tickets families could also travel as far afield as East Leake to visit Manor Farm and Woodlands, or even the National Trust’s Victorian Workhouse in Southwell – all at a cost of only £7 for the journey!
“Our buses are frequent, reliable, comfortable and incredible value for money with a Grouprider ticket,” adds Anthony Carver-Smith. “They really are the best way to travel in and around the city and may just help keep summer holiday boredom at bay!”
