Golden Bus Namings: Nottingham City Transport names buses after Rio Gold Medalists Helen Richardson-Walsh and Richard Whitehead!

Nottingham City Transport has named two of its buses after local gold medalists from Rio 2016, with a number 8 bus named after Nottingham’s very own Olympic Gold-winning hockey hero, Helen Richardson-Walsh and a Pathfinder 100 bus after gold-winning T42 champion Richard Whitehead!

Nottingham City Transport has attracted “hero” status from a new national campaign for fair fares for under-18s.

The campaign, run by two 16 year-olds who became fed up of the way travel companies charge adult fares to teenagers still in education, has highlighed the Nottinghamshire bus company as a model for others to follow.
