From Monday 30th January 2017, Citylink 1 and W4 will be replaced by two new bus services.
A new, more direct Centrelink Park and Ride service (operated by Nottingham Community Transport on behalf of Nottingham City Council) will run between the Queen’s Drive Park & Ride Ecohub, Meadows Way and the Railway Station to the City Centre, terminating in Victoria Bus Station. This new service will no longer serve Fletcher Gate and the Lace Market but will instead access and depart the city to the west of the City Centre via Maid Marian Way. This service will be operated with 13 new ultra-modern low emission electric buses.
From Monday 30th January 2017, the Citylink 2 will be renamed the Ecolink and also be operated by electric buses. The route will change slightly. When returning to the City Centre it will turn left at Pennyfoot Street on to Bellargate. This service will be operated by Nottingham Community Transport on behalf of Nottingham City Council.
For further information about the new Centrelink Park and Ride and Ecolink service, visit the City Council’s website.
New NCT Navy Line 49 will run between Boots Factory, Thane Road, Electric Avenue, Queen’s Drive, NG2 Business Park, the Railway Station and the City Centre.
In the City Centre, buses will terminate with our other Navy Line buses in the Old Market Square on Beastmarket Hill. Buses will also stop on Maid Marian Way, at Broadmarsh and the Railway Station. At Broadmarsh and the Railway Station, buses will change stops and use the same stop as our Navy 48, so that all buses to Queen’s Drive share stops. (Existing stops on Fletcher Gate, George Street, Elite and Mount Street will no longer be served.)
In addition, we are re-routing Navy 48 to serve Electric Avenue and Experian, 7 days a week with buses every 10 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes. (Some early morning and late evening buses will run direct via Queen’s Drive as 48X).
Navy Line 49 will run with double deck buses up to every 15 minutes during the Monday to Friday daytime (06:00 – 18:30) and will continue to have early morning and evening journeys to cater for shift patterns along the route, especially at Boots Factory.
On Saturdays and Bank Holiday Mondays, there will be five journeys in each direction which will run at similar times to the current W4.
For Electric Avenue and Experian, our Navy 48 will also provide more journeys to and from the Railway Station and the City Centre, running every 10 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes.
Service 49 will be operated with exact fare buses and change will not be available from the driver.
All Easyrider passes and NCT’s £3.50 All Day Ticket will be valid on Navy Line 49, offering cheaper travel for people who use other NCT buses to connect in the City Centre or at the Railway Station. Easyrider offers unlimited monthly travel across the NCT City Bus Network from £45 on Direct Debit or £52.75 in the NCT Travel Centre.
Customers who use the tram or another bus operator can continue to use their Robin Hood card on Navy Line 49.
Employees of Experian and VF Northern will be able to use Navy 48, 48X, 49, 49X for free between the City Centre and Electric Avenue, after these organisations have transferred across their current arrangement from Citylink 1. Employees should show their Staff ID when boarding the bus.
