City Centre Congestion

Update, Monday 7 August, 20:15

Repairs to a collapsed sewer in the City Centre – at the Parliament Street and Clumber Street junction – have recently begun and are expected to continue for the next 8 weeks.

To accommodate these repairs, we moved some services to alternative stops and temporary traffic lights are being used.

Unfortunately, despite this, services were severely disrupted from lunchtime today as the roads in and around the City Centre became congested and, at times, gridlocked.

To reduce the congestion, we moved some additional services for most of the afternoon and this helped ease the flow of traffic.

All services have now returned back to their normal stops in the City Centre for the rest of the evening except Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and Purple 87, 88, 89 and these services remain on their intended alternative stops (details here).

We have been in close contact with Nottingham City Council and the contractors throughout the afternoon and there have been changes made to the traffic management and arrangements for the roadworks.

On Tuesday, we will begin service with all buses using their normal stops (except Green 5-9 and Purple 87-89 as above) and will monitor how the changes to the roadworks management affect our services.

If any further changes are necessary, we will post updates to our social media channels and have information on the bus stop displays.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during the disruption on Monday.
