DVSA Earned Recognition.

We are pleased to confirm that Nottingham City Transport has successfully achieved continued accreditation in the DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme, following the most recent periodic audit.

Earned Recognition brings many benefits to NCT, including:

  • Demonstration that we are proven to be an exemplary operator with safety at the forefront
  • Proven to be compliant with all standards
  • Being less likely to have vehicles stopped at the roadside
  • Being less likely to have DVSA visit our premises
  • Access to future DVSA incentives

Natalie Monaghan-Smith, NCT’s Operational Compliance Manager, has successfully led this re-accreditation process, following her initial year-long project across NCT that resulted in our first acceptance into the scheme in April 2023. Natalie continues to ensure that all of our policies, procedures and systems remain fully up to date and aligned with national standards.

NCT remains the only bus operator in Nottingham to hold this nationally recognised status, which highlights our ongoing commitment to safety, compliance, and excellence in transport operations.

David Astill, NCT’s Managing Director, said, “We are delighted to have retained our Earned Recognition Status. We view it as vindication of our high standard of compliance in all sections of the business. Our team members, customers and shareholders can be rightly proud. I am the first to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the dedication and hard work of our loyal staff who consistently deliver the best bus service in Britain seven days a week”.
