7th - 16th February

Presenting the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity

Nottingham gets curious!

Nottingham’s annual Festival of Science and Curiosity is back for its 7th year with a renewed vigour for all things scientific and curiosity-inspiring. Join us from 7-16th February for a programme brimming with a brilliant mix of creative science activities and workshops across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Festival aims to present science in a new light and showcasing science as something that can be fun, hands-on and is full of astonishing and unbelievable possibilities. The Festival hopes to not only inspire, but empower children, young people and adults alike from all backgrounds to learn and understand science and perhaps even to pursue a stem education or career in stem.

This year’s Festival features The Curiosity Show, a series of 5 hourlong shows broadcasting live from Monday 7th February until Friday 11th February, 4-5pm on Notts TV as well as Facebook Live and Twitch. The programme includes live science demonstrations, interviews and activities for the whole family to enjoy and hopes to boost a child’s enthusiasm for learning and to kick start conversations about science after the show.

The Festival also features a new and improved magazine for children aged 7-11 years, which includes interesting articles, fun activities, puzzles and exciting experiments. The magazine is also available digitally on the festival website. The magazine hopes to inspire children, familiarise them with science related topics and most importantly help local scientists communicate their research to local children.

The Festival programme is now live and features a fantastic range of science related activities and workshops during the half term in local libraries and venues such as Wollaton Hall, Broadway Cinema, Lakeside Arts and Mansfield Museum. This year many of the activities and workshops require pre-booking so in order to avoid disappointment ensure you register early.

We hope to see you there!
