This disruption is no longer in place.
The East Leake Carnival will be held on Saturday 23rd June 2018, with a parade taking place between about 1510 and 1610.
This will involve fairly brief closures of parts of Gotham Road and Main Street in East Leake, with diversions on South Notts 1 in two phases:
Phase 1: Gotham Road between Lantern Lane and Main Street
This section of Gotham Road will close for about 20 minutes. As there is no suitable diversion, buses will have to wait for the road to reopen before continuing their journeys (buses towards Loughborough will be able to follow the parade as the road is reopened behind it).
Phase 2: Main Street between Gotham Road and Station Road
This section of Main Street will close for about 40 minutes from the time at which the parade arrives at the south end of Gotham Road. While this closure is in place, buses operating service 1 should use the following diversion route:
Service 1 towards Loughborough:
Operate via normal route as far as Gotham Road (East Leake Shops), then at the T junction turn left Main Street, right Castle Hill, Loughborough Road to normal route after the Rempstone Road junction.
Service 1 towards Nottingham:
Operate via normal route as far as A6006 Melton Road, then turn left onto Loughborough Road as normal but continue straight on past the Rempstone Road junction, continue on Castle Hill, left Main Street and then right Gotham Road to continue via normal route at East Leake shops.
Buses will operate as Hail & Ride on the diversion route in BOTH directions.
