Contractors NMCNomeneca working on behalf of Severn Trent Water are to carry out work to excavate and repair a collapsed sewer under Parliament Street and Clumber Street.
From Sunday 6th August, for approx. 8 weeks, a deep excavation will take place on Parliament Street and a tunnel will be driven into Clumber Street, the work will occupy part of the carriageway on Parliament Street and site hoarding will be placed around the working area.
Contractors will be working on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
As a result there are changes to some bus stopping arrangements:
- Green line 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and NightBus N6: These buses will move further down Parliament Street to stop code W1, which is located outside Wilkinsons and used by Orange 34 services.
- Purple line 87, 88, 89 and NightBus N89: These buses will move to Burton Street, down the side of the Cornerhouse (outside Turtle Bay) to stop code T7, which is used by Navy 4.
- Pathfinder 100: Will set down at stop W3 outside Victoria Centre (instead of W4)
3-way temporary lights will be in use at the junction of Parliament Street and Milton Street and we expect severe delays to all City Centre services throughout these works as a result.
