NCT Electric Bus Project Nominated for Award

Phase one of our electrification of Trent Bridge Garage has been nominated in the 'Exemplary Contribution to Net Zero' category of the National Transport Awards 2024.

The nomination is a joint one for NCT and our infrastructure partner Zenobe, who have worked closely with us to deliver end-to-end electrification of our historic, partially listed depot.

The first phase has been in use since April, with our 24 Yutong single deck buses now operating successfully every day. The second phase of the project is now well underway, which will see chargers installed inside Trent Bridge Works and additional chargers in the main garage.

These new chargers will ensure that our next 24 electric buses due early 2025 and a further 14 due early 2026 are catered for, as we move to have a full electric single deck fleet within 18 months.
