Fare Increase from Sunday 31 March 2019

59 days ago Tue 26th Mar 2019

Some fares will be increasing from Sunday 31 March 2019.

This will be the first rise in these fares for a year (last increase 25 March 2018) and is necessary to once again cover above inflationary increases in operating costs, as well as for investment over the next 12 months in the fleet and in ticketing technology.

The price NCT is paying for a litre of diesel has increased by 8 pence per litre over the last year, which represents an 8.5% rise and can no longer be absorbed.

Significant investment in lowering emissions from the NCT fleet will also continue throughout the year, so buses meet Nottingham’s new clean air requirements, which will improve air quality across the city. Whilst NCT has been successful in securing some external funding towards this investment, most of this cost has to be met through fares.

The new prices are as follows:

Adult

  • Standard single increases to £2.30 (switch to the NCTX Buses app and you can pay £2.07 per trip with our 10 trip ticket at £20.70)
