£1 Singles for Job Seekers

Nottingham City Transport has joined other local transport operators in offering half price single tickets for job seekers as part of the local Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

A 50% discount is available to all holders of the Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card, reducing travel to just £1 single on any bus on the NCT network.

How to Buy

You must have a valid Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card, which you show to the driver when boarding the bus and ask for a Job Seeker Single ticket.

You can pay on the bus with cash (exact fare) or with contactless. If paying with contactless, let the driver know you want to pay with contactless before placing your card or device on the reader.

You can also pay with the NCTX Buses app by uploading your Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card to verify your account.

How to Apply for a Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card

You can apply for a Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Card at your local Jobcentre Plus office if you are claiming:

• Jobseekers Allowance
• Universal Credit for 3-9 months (18-24 year olds) or 3-12 months (over 25s)
• Other benefits after 3 months and if you are actively engaged with a Jobcentre Plus adviser
