Make the Most of Lighter Evenings with New £2 Single Bus Tickets!

Today Wed 10th Jun 2026

£2 Evening Bus Fare.

Summer days, lighter evenings, and more opportunities to get out and about are here, and now people can travel for even less with new £2 Evening Single tickets with NCT.

From Sunday 21st June, this new fare offers a discounted evening travel option, reducing the cost of a standard single fare by a third from £3 to just £2 during evening hours.

Designed to make evening travel more affordable and flexible, the ticket gives customers a simple and low-cost way to enjoy nights out, meet friends and family, attend events, or explore somewhere new.

The £2 Evening Single will be valid from 19:00 every night of the week until the last bus, across the entire NCT network, offering great value for evening journeys. The ticket will be available to purchase using cash, contactless payment, and on the NCTX Buses App.

Whether it’s heading into town after work, enjoying dinner and drinks, catching a show, or making spontaneous plans while the evenings stay lighter for longer, the new fare makes travelling easier and more accessible.

Nottingham City Transport hopes the initiative will encourage more people to travel by bus for evening journeys whilst supporting local businesses, hospitality venues, and attractions across Nottingham.

Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Head of Marketing at Projects said, “We’re slashing the price of an evening journey by a third across the NCT bus network, ideal for getting out and about during the lighter summer nights, particularly as the hospitality sector warns of their cost pressures as people have cut their spending”.

He continued, “A return journey by bus will cost just £4 after 7pm each and every night, offering a great saving compared to buying an all day ticket. Our forthcoming June changes reflect the drop in usage in some areas at night, and we hope this lower fares initiative will not only encourage more people to travel, but support the local economy too”.

Alex Flint, CEO It’s in Nottingham added; “Nottingham is well known for its vibrant night life and exciting city centre venues and attractions, but we know that some consumers are choosing to spend less on socialising, and this affects businesses in the city. As Nottingham’s Business Improvement District, we welcome this initiative from NCT and share their passion for encouraging the use of public transport as a reliable and cost-effective way to make the most of what our city offers.”
