Fare Increases from 28th May 2023

New NCT bus fares will be introduced from Sunday 28th May 2023, as we continue to face significant increases in our costs, which has resulted in an operational loss for NCT in the last financial year.
The average bus fare will rise by 9.6%, which is below the current inflation rate of 10.1%.
David Astill, NCT’s Managing Director said, “We’ve all had to contend with the cost of living situation which is affecting businesses, just as much as it is households. The government has been very understanding and has provided financial support since the lockdown of 2020. But even with that support, Nottingham City Transport has made a loss and that clearly isn’t sustainable going forward”.
Your fares, which apply across all payment methods, from Sunday 28th May 2023 are:

Student
Student prices will be available through the NCTX Buses app or on Robin Hood Pay As You Go Cards only. These tickets will no longer be available to buy on the bus on Navy, Pink or Orange Line services. This is to ensure that student entitlement can be verified at the time of purchase, to minimise purchase by people who are not entitled to student discounts.

Outer Zone Single and Day Travel
The £2.00 promotional single fare continues, but Outer Zone fares on South Notts 1, Pathfinder 26 and Sky Blue 46, 47 will increase by up to 40p on single tickets and 70p on Day Return tickets from 1st July 2023 when government funding of current fare cap scheme ends. It is our intention to continue participating in the extended scheme through until October 2023, subject to agreeing acceptable reimbursement levels with the Department for Transport.
Easyrider Purse fares will no longer be discounted and fares paid for using Easyrider Purse will be charged at the same price as on-bus cash and contactless fares. Easyrider Purse on bus top ups will be withdrawn. Top ups will be available in our Travel Centre and online.

Season Tickets on Easyrider and NCTX Buses App
Lowdham and Burton Joyce will move from the City Zone to the Outer Zone, with the boundary brought in line with other tickets on Pathfinder 26 at Linden Grove/Carlton-le-Willows Academy. An Easyrider Further card will be needed to travel to Lowdham and Burton Joyce from 28th May.
Existing Easyrider Everyday and Anyday cardholders who have boarded at least once per week in Lowdham or Burton Joyce in March, April and May 2023 can have their card exchanged for an Everyday Further card, set to the original card expiry date (Everyday) or number of days remaining (Anyday). This offer is available until 31st August 2023. After this date, cardholders can apply for a refund on the remaining travel on their card, in accordance with our Refund Policy.
