Closures of Edwards Lane

10th - 28th Aug 2026

On each weekday between 10th August and 28th Aug (08:00-17:00 each day.) Edwards Lane is to be closed for resurfacing works. Aside from the 8/9 Aug, works are weekdays only and buses will divert as follows:

Purple 87, 88, 89/A towards Arnold or Rise Park: Buses will be normal route to Sherwood Shops. At the junction of Edwards Lane, buses will continue along Mansfield Road, turning left onto Valley Road and right onto Edwards Lane at Five Ways.

Purple 87, 88, 89/A towards City: Buses will be normal route along Edwards Lane to Five Ways Island. Buses will then turn left onto Valley Road and right Mansfield Road to normal route from Sherwood Shops.

Blue 40A to City Hospital: Buses will be normal route to Sherwood Shops. At the junction of Edwards Lane, buses will continue along Mansfield Road, turning left onto Valley Road and right onto Edwards Lane at Five Ways.

Blue 40A To City: Buses will be normal route along Valley Road. At Five Ways Island, buses will continue on Valley Road and right Mansfield Road to normal route from Sherwood Shops.

Roadworks - Redhill Road

6th Aug 2026 onwards

Roadworks are taking place on Redhill Road. The Lodge Farm Lane stop towards Arnold is closed.

King Street and Queen Street Stops

15th - 18th Aug 2026

King Street and Queen Street cannot be served because of emergency carriageway repairs.

Lilac 25/B, 26/A/B, 27 - please use their Victoria Centre stops as an alternative.

Blue 39, 40/A/B, 41, 42 - please use their Victoria Centre stops as an alternative.

Red 43, 44/A - please use their Victoria Centre stops as an alternative.

Sky Blue 60 - please use Burton Street, alongside the Cornerhouse as an alternative.

City Hospital

21st Jun 2026 onwards

Linden Way is closed to all traffic until further notice, affecting Blue 40A.

Blue 40A to City Hospital will follow normal route to Edwards Lane, but continue further along Edwards Lane and enter the City Hospital through Gate 4 to terminate at the Radiotherapy named stop on North Road.

Blue 40A to City will start from the Radiotherapy named stop on North Road and resume normal route.
